One of the newest member’s of the Elase family tackles a topic we all can relate to: finding your passion.

I think one of the most important things we can do in life is finding something to be passionate about. The world is full of possibilities and when we put our hearts into something that we love, we create a world of happiness.

There are so many ways to spend our time, with time being our most valuable gift, it is very important that we take into account how we spend it.

People often misconstrue time spent on self-growth as a selfish act, but to truly contribute the best that you have to this world, you have to create a life of happiness for yourself.

My passion is my horses. I spend a large amount of time working with them, and building a partnership to be a competitive barrel racer. Being a competitor takes so much time and work to be physically and mentally prepared. When racing through the barrel pattern as fast as you can, your timing with your horse is everything; focusing on your muscle memory to be in tune with your partner. Not only is it physically demanding but it is mentally challenging. Having a beautiful run in the arena and being a winner, displays you are the strongest in talent and mental toughness combined. I love to learn and my horses teach me something new every day.  It is something I love and it is something that makes me happy.

I challenge you to find something that makes you happy. Make it a point to spend time with your passion. Let it be your serenity and help you create peace within yourself. In turn you will be happy and therefore, you will offer the best you have to the world around you.

“If you give the world the best you have, the best will come back to you.”

Let’s talk.  Man to man.  It’s a subject that probably didn’t come up on the golf course last week, or anytime for that matter.  It’s your underarm hair.  Yeah, I went there.   A man-to-man talk about arm pit hair!  Guess what?  You don’t need it, as in: it’s time to get rid of it.  Forever.

Now, I may have offended some of you with this bold talk.  If so, you can go back to updating your MySpace page.  This isn’t for you.  But from the rest of you, I just ask for 1 more minute of your time and a little honesty.

Underarm hair is nasty.  It looks bad.  It smells bad.  It chews up your deodorant.  It snags and pulls.  It’s wrong and it needs to go.  So unless your “significant other” likes to run her hands through your underarm hair, you have no reason to keep it.  Trust me.  I’ve permanently removed my underarm hair and I haven’t missed it even once!  In fact, I can’t imagine having it back.

If I still haven’t convinced you, then maybe this helps:

Enough said (and seen?).  Now, let’s talk about how to do it.  Yes, you could borrow your wife’s razor, cut yourself up and clog your drain every month, but please don’t even consider shaving.  The only answer here is LASER HAIR REMOVAL.  There is no second option.  Laser hair removal will permanently remove or significantly reduce the hair.  It’s affordable, virtually painless, and easy.  Come and see us at the Elase Medical Spas and let us take care of things from here.

Armpits. Manbeard. Legs and Bikini.

Recently there’s been a number of third-party blog posts about laser hair removal procedures at Elase Spas.

And so it occurred to me that some of our readers may have a question or two about preparing for laser hair removal and what to expect during and after treatment.

To give you further encouragement about laser hair removal and so you’ll get yourself to the nearest Elase Spa ASAP, I offer up this information.

How to Prepare for Laser Hair Removal

The truth is that laser hair removal is more than just a  ”zippity-zap” of unwanted hair. It is an authentic medical procedure that requires the right training and solid experience.

Plus there are some potential risks. So before getting laser hair removal, you should thoroughly check the credentials of the technician performing the procedure. Here now is the warranted yet shameless plug:

Elase Spa Master Estheticians have hundreds of hours of training plus extensive experience on more than one laser modality.

Now back to preparation.

  • If you are planning on undergoing laser hair removal, limit plucking, waxing, and electrolysis for six weeks before your treatment. That’s because you need those pesky hair roots intact so that the laser has something to target.
  • You should also avoid sun exposure for six weeks before and after treatment. Sun exposure makes laser hair removal less effective and can create post-treatment complications.
  • Although discomfort is minimal, you may choose to take a over the counter pain reliever like Ibuprofen. However most clients find that they do not need to take anything at all.

What to Expect During Laser Hair Removal

  • Shave the day of the procedure. Your ME or other medical professional will adjust the laser according to your skin color and the thickness, color, and location of the area being treated.
  • Only areas being treated will be exposed. You can also request disposable paper panties to wear during the procedure. Additionally both of you will wear appropriate eye protection.
  • It will also be necessary to protect the outer layers of your skin with a cold gel or special cooling device. This will help the laser light penetrate the skin.
  • You will sit or recline comfortably on a medical table and the ME will administer a pulse of the laser while watching carefully for any kind of reaction and that the best settings have been. Depending on the area being treated the procedure will last anywhere from 10 minutes to one hour.
  • You can schedule your next treatment four to six weeks later and plan on anywhere from 6-12 treatments.

Soon shaving, tweezing, waxing and such will be a thing of the past and soon you’ll think to yourself, “Why did I wait so long to say so long hairy pits, manbeard, legs, and bikini?”
